Venue: Charnwood Museum

A three day event was held in Loughborough in June 1923 to raise the last funds needed to complete the Carillon War Memorial. Discover how the town pulled together to raise nearly £3000 in three days with song, dance and fish and chips!

The Alexandra Bedspread was a highlight of Bazaar. A textile decorated with 510 embroidered signatures including that of Queen Alexandra. As I continue my research into this fascinating item new discoveries are made about its story.

Deborah Moxom, is an amateur local historian has been researching the Alexandra Bedspread for the last 4 years
