Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Date: Thu, 19th May 2022 - Sun, 12th Jun 2022
Venue: Charnwood Museum
The Local History Volunteer Group have created a wonderful exhibit at Charnwood Museum, in celebration of the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
They've been putting their research skills to the test to find out more about the Queen's life and have gotten creative in an arts workshop, having a go for the first time, at fabric printing. Featured in the exhibition, it includes a timeline highlighting the Queen's key life events and visits to Leicester City, along with some fantastic arts and crafts work inspired by the Queen and the Royal family.
This group is run by Leicestershire County Councils Adult Learning Services (LALS), who support local people with multiple and complex learning disabilities through independent living and Skills for Life Courses. The Participation Team are delighted to work in partnership with the Service to provide access to exciting and flexible cultural volunteering opportunities.
