Fraud in Archaeology
Date: Thu, 16th Jun 2022, 19:30 - 21:00
Venue: Charnwood Museum
Fraudulent deception is usually associated with the financial sector but it also occurs in Academia. This talk looks at fraudulent archaeological claims. The best known of course, is Piltdown Man but there have been other less well known examples. The striking feature of all off these is that they were so poorly executed. Why were they done and why did it take so long to expose them?
